Jonny Wilkinson backs Vitality's #MySummerGoal campaign
Rugby legend Jonny Wilkinson was at Pennyhill Park in Surrey today as part of his ambassadorial role for health and life insurer Vitality.World Cup winner Wilkinson became a Vitality Ambassador in 2013. Since then he has used his passion for healthy living to encourage people to get active, while also sharing his experiences, offering practical advice and motivating everyone to take achievable steps towards lifelong wellness. Today he was at Pennyhill Park to support Vitality’s latest campaign, #MySummerGoal.
#MySummerGoal is a campaign that encourages members to set a six-week fitness goal throughout the summer. Whether that’s to run their first mile or marathon, take up a new sport or just add something small to their everyday routine, Vitality will help them hit their goal through motivational tips and rewards.
Vitality research shows that small improvements to activity levels can make a positive difference to people’s long-term health and through the extra nudge of incentives and rewards they can be encouraged to make healthy choices every day. Vitality found that previously sedentary members who increased their activity levels to the Government recommended 150 minutes a week saw their life expectancy boosted by more than three years (3.1 years).*
Jonny Wilkinson said: “It’s been great working with Vitality over the past four years as we share the same passion about encouraging people to live more healthily. Campaigns like #MySummerGoal really help motivate everyone, no matter their current state of health, to take positive steps to a healthier and more active lifestyle.”
Nick Read, Commercial Director at Vitality, said: “Jonny is such an incredible role model and we are delighted that he is supporting #MySummerGoal. We are truly privileged to have such a fantastic group of Ambassadors to help spread the Vitality message about healthy living.”
Jonny Wilkinson is one of five Vitality Ambassadors, who include Jessica Ennis-Hill, Maro Itoje, Joe Root, and Ellie Simmonds.
