Walking is one of the most common ways our members earn Vitality points for getting active. To track your steps you’ll need to link a compatible step tracking device to Vitality via the Member Zone.

If you’re aged 70 or over or have a verified Vitality Age gap of five or more years, you can earn three activity points for reaching 5,000 steps in a day.
Tracking your heart rate allows you to earn Vitality points for a wide range of physical activities. Tracking your heart rate usually means you will need to wear a Heart Rate strap in order to measure this. Some manufacturers, however, do have selected devices that measure your heart rate on your wrist when wearing the device. We support heart rate tracking when using Garmin or Polar devices and we also offer a discount of up to 40%* on many of these devices when bought through the Member Zone.
*You can get up to 40% off one eligible Garmin or Polar device per plan year.

To claim your Vitality points for a parkrun, first register on the parkrun website. There you will be assigned a barcode. Take this barcode to a parkrun and once you have taken part, get your barcode scanned and then within the next 2 weeks your points should show on your points statement. Vitality points earned for volunteering at parkrun events do not count towards Active Rewards, but Vitality points earned by taking part in the parkrun do and appear as Get Active points on your Vitality points statement in the Member Zone. Not all plan types are eligible for Active Rewards.
